We are learning in our story writing that the first sentence needs to grab our readers attention so they want to read on in our stories. We are working really hard to create amazing grabber sentences. You could have written I walked to school today or On my way to school today I saw a dark shadow following me. Which sentence grabs your attention and makes you excited to want to read more. This is where I need you help Grade 3’s. I need you to post GRABBER starter sentences into the comments for this post. I wonder how many GREAT GRABBERS we can create.

Thanksgiving is a great time to remember all the things we have to be Thankful for! Did you know they celebrate thanksgiving all around the world? I WONDER what they do in different places around the world? For this challenge go on Google and type in thanksgiving celebrations around the world. Then please share one of the celebrations you learn about from another country in the comments for this post. I can hardly wait to hear about them.

In our Global Read Aloud book The Fourteenth Goldfish Ellie’s grandfather is a Scientist. He has created a potion that turns him into a teenager again. There are many different types of scientists in the world. Go on the computer and Google different types of scientist. After you have read about the different scientist pick one you would like to be. Then in the comments for this post tell me about the scientist you would like to be, what they do and why you would like to be that one.
