Beware Volcanoes Errupting !!!

We have been creating paper mache volcanoes in our art class. The robots that have landed on our school come from the planet Zuron and they have hundreds of volcanoes on their planet. They feel homesick so we are trying to make them feel more at home on our planet. They are looking amazing Grade 3’s. We have been learning about Mount Saint Helen. Did you know that Mount Saint Helen slept for 123 years and then erupted? Can you look up on the computer some cool volcano facts and add them to the comments for this post? Thanks Grade 3’s YOU ROCK!!

Soil Labratory Opening Soon !!!!

In our Science class we are learning about the amazing thing called SOIL!!! Soil is so amazing yet we take it for granted every day. There are many different types of soil, uses for soil and ways that soil can be made. We need to find ways to stop soil erosion which destroys our precious soil!! Can you tell me some uses of soil, kinds of soil, how we can make soil better, describe the particles in the different soils, what soil erosion is and how to stop it?

Next week we will be opening up our soil laboratory and the Grade 3 Little Mad Scientists will be finding out first hand what the different types of soil feel like, look like and do some cool experiments!! We can hardly wait.

What are you thankful for this year on Thanksgiving Day?

We have so many things to be thankful for living here in Canada. We are learning about children’s rights in our Social class. We have learned that not all children have the same opportunities as us. We have learned that not all countries are as peaceful as ours. We get to go to school everyday, we have healthy food, clean water, peace in our country, love. and safe homes to live in. Take time to think of all the amazing things you have to be thankful for this year and share some with us?
